Welcome Dr Patrick Bron - Our visiting researcher | Research Director at the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM) in the Structural Biochemical Centre (CBS)
03 November, 2019
Dr Patrick Bron is a Research Director at the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM) in the Structural Biochemical Centre (CBS) of Montpellier (France) where he’s managing the team « Multi-scale structural biology ». Patrick Bron obtained his PhD in Biophysics on the structural investigation of membrane proteins by cryo-electron crystallography in 1997. He performed a post-doctoral stay at the Max-Planck Institute fur Biophysic (Frankfurt-am-main, Germany) under the supervision of Dr Werner Kuelhbrandt, and obtained a position as assistant professor at the University of Rennes where he taught Biochemistry and Structural Biology. In 2009, he moved to the CBS to develop cryo-electron microscopy approaches. Patrick Bron is involved in deciphering structure and dynamics of biological complexes from molecular to cellular level by a multi-disciplinary and integrative approach mainly combining methods as cryo-electron microscopy and X-ray crystallography. His team is interested in structural virology and in structural investigation of therapeutic targets.
