We are pleased to share that Atheer Alqatari from our team participated in the Biotechnology and Innovation Workshop at the Saudi Food and Drug Authority in Riyadh on February 16, 2026.
During the workshop, we presented a poster entitled:
“Rapid Dengue & Zika Virus Detection with a Locally Developed Nanobody Lateral Flow Assay.”
The work highlights the development of a next-generation lateral flow assay (LFA) using locally produced nanobodies for sensitive and selective detection of viral biomarkers. This approach offers a cost-effective, stable, and adaptable platform with strong potential for point-of-care diagnostics and future multiplexing applications.
This project was supported by funding from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, including the KAUST Center of Excellence for Smart Health (KCSH) and the Translational Research Grant Award.
We are proud to contribute to innovation in in vitro diagnostics and to engage with national stakeholders on advancing medical device development in the Kingdom.
